The fluency approach of the Snacks & Kitchen box goes deeper than our phrasebook because it helps you to consistently use and exponentially add the language to your everyday life like other Fluency Families.

Do you see that Challenge 2 isn’t a vocabulary chart? Fluency Families don’t learn individual words. They go beyond memorizing vocabulary and grammar — and actually use vocabulary words in grammatically correct sentences.

And Challenge 3 isn’t flash cards! One of the secrets Fluency Families know is that your recall doesn’t come from a piece of paper — but from actual experiences with your family.

HOW TO USE THE BOX

Choose a phrase from the Proven Roadmap laid out in your first Challenge, starting with phrases your family uses more often.

STEP 2

Practice the phrase with your family in a 5 – 15 minute Practice Session—complete with Native Speaker Audio and fun family memories.

Use the phrase as life happens. Check out the example in Spanish below to see how this would work for your family in any language!

STEP 1: PICK A PHRASE

First, start with phrases your family uses or could use very often.

For example, something my KIDS say all the time is, “I’m hungry!”

This would be a great phrase to practice and add to our life.

I simply push the heart next to this phrase in the TalkBox.Mom Companion App.

(Each part of the program appears in the app once purchased.)

STEP 2: PRACTICE THE PHRASE

This example is in Spanish. TalkBox.Mom offers 11 different languages with more on the way!

To practice the phrase, our focus is NOT on saying it perfectly — it’s on having fun!

If you’re having fun, you can hear better. And if you can hear better, you can pronounce the words better over time.

We want to support each other for trying and putting ourselves out there.

So first practice the phrase with the native speaker audio.

Then practice the phrase by telling your child it’s time for bed, play the audio again, and have them whine the phrase to you. 😜

If you have a baby, practice the phrase by playing the audio and saying the phrase before feeding your baby!

STEP 3: USE THE PHRASE AS LIFE HAPPENS

  • The magic happens when you use the phrases with your family!
  • Like, when you’re cooking breakfast, and your youngest says, “¡Tengo hambre!” (I’m hungry!) And you’re like, “We just STARTED!” And you’re already having your first Fluency Family moment.
  • Continue focusing on using the phrases you’re learning or guiding little ones to say them word by word whenever you have the opportunity!
  • Whether you’re a beginner or a native speaker, your family will all be on the same page, using the same phrases to increase the areas of where you can speak.
BECOME A FLUENCY FAMILY

After completing this Practice Session, your family completes nine more Practice Sessions — always with one new phrase.

Then you move on to the next Challenge. (Typically 1-4 weeks.)

CHALLENGE 2

This next Challenge isn’t a vocabulary chart. Rather, everything is written PROPERLY to fit into all the sentences at the top of the posters.

So if you sliced up apples for your kids, you could look at the phrase at the top for “Do you want…?” (to 2+) and add it to apple slices to sound just like a native speaker. After 10 Practice Sessions with 1-2 new Phrases in each Practice Session, you move on to the next Challenge. (Typically 1-4 weeks.)

CHALLENGE 3

The language guides in this Challenge aren’t flash cards. They’re label cards!

These cards go near the item you’re talking about, so you can use the phrases easily.

For example, I have the bowl, plate, and cup cards on the inside of my cabinet doors where I have those items. I open it up, remember we’re using another language, and use one of those phrases.

After 10 Practice Sessions with 1-2 new Phrases in each Practice Session, you move on to the next Box.

After completing all 9 Boxes, you go through your Boxes again, completing new Practice Sessions with new phrases you haven’t practiced yet.

If you are already using the language and your kids are responding back in the language easily and natively (not translating in their heads), you probably don’t need this.

Yes! It’s not about what you know. It’s about how much of your target language you are actually using. If you aren’t talking consistently in your target language every day, start with box one.

If you are talking in your target language with your family throughout your entire day, then you don’t need our program!

That means that your family didn’t do the work. If your family can speak English, they can start using a new language with TalkBox.Mom. If you don’t want to do the work to use a new language every day, do not buy this program.

The boxes are part of a subscription series, but you have full control over when you receive each box!

After your initial purchase, you can pause your subscription right away, so you won’t be charged again until you’re ready for your next box. 

When that time comes, just take your subscription off hold, choose your next shipment date, and then put it back on hold after your order goes through.

However, if you get the 9-Box Bundle, you will not have a subscription that renews. The subscription will expire because you purchased all nine boxes.

Yes, your whole family living in your household can use the app! You have lifetime, nontransferable access to the app. Your family will use the same login on multiple devices because you work together to master and check off phrases. This is a team effort!

The app was made for iPhones and Androids. You will need to have a WiFi or data connection.

Nope. This is a family thing where you learn the phrases together.

Your family has lifetime access because you might want to go back and practice things that are fading. Or you might want to repeat the boxes when you have another child or your children enter high school.

When you purchase a box, the companion app and audio downloads are only licensed to your family living in your household. This license is non-transferable. So lifetime access is only for your family living in your home.

You can do that, but there won’t be any boxes or books in the app. Only when you purchase a TalkBox.Mom product will the app show that product in it.

The boxes do go in a specific order because they get more intense as you move forward. For example, your cards in Box 8 don’t have English on them. If you already know a lot of the language, you still start with Box 1. We’re concerned about you actually using what you know. So we’ll get you talking consistently and then start adding on more things. We recommend going faster if you already know more.

Yes, that’s a huge part of our program. All the audio is from native speakers–not a computer. You will hear how words and sentences are said naturally inside the TalkBox.Mom Companion App.

No, we do not offer CDs. We are always adding bonus and requested phrases, so CDs would get dated very quickly. You will need to access the app via WiFi or data on an iPhone or Android device. Or you can log into your web browser to access your TalkBox.Mom subscription box. For some challenges, you can download the full audio; however, this is only recommended after you have also learned the bonus phrases in the app.

You can cancel future payments any time. But we do not take returns on subscription boxes. We know that if your family works through a box, you’ll be talking even more. Because you get instant access and our boxes are so good, we do not offer returns on purchased subscription boxes. Be sure you are ready to commit before you hit buy.

That means that your family didn’t do the work. If your family can speak English, they can start using another language. If you don’t want to do the work to use another language every day, do not buy this program.

Orders placed on Monday – Friday before 12 PM CT will ship the same day. Orders placed after 12 PM CT will ship on the next business day.
