How Does TalkBox.Mom Compare to Rosetta Stone?

Rosetta Stone is probably the most famous foreign language program around. It’s been around for years! It starts with words and images to help you build associations and then builds up to sentences. The content in the program is more targeted towards single adults looking to travel or work abroad. This program is a fine option if you want to learn a foreign language by yourself or want your child to be babysat while checking the box for foreign language time.

If you would rather learn a foreign language through an immersive, more child-centered program that your whole family can benefit from, TalkBox.Mom is a great option for you! You and your kids are given the opportunity to talk in a foreign language using phrases that you say in your normal day-to-day life. Instead of sitting in front of a computer screen, your kids are able to use the new language as they do chores, wash their hands, eat their food, etc. Transforming your daily life into a new language makes it so much more exciting and fun!

How does TalkBox.Mom compare to Rosetta Stone?

Answered by Molly

What is the difference between Rosetta Stone and TalkBox.Mom?

Well, Rosetta Stone is a computer software program that you

have to sit in front of the computer to watch or they

have an app as well.

But the problem with that is, is it’s one single person learning words.

With TalkBox.Mom,

it is an immersive program for the whole family, so you can

learn right along with your kids.

And what’s fun about TalkBox.Mom,

is they are using phrases right off the bat that you

know your kids say all the time, like, “I want a snack!” Sometimes

with the more professional programs like Rosetta Stone,

they like to pull out more business professional talk for

the adults who are trying to do business abroad,

so learning phrases like how to hail a taxi or schedule a

meeting aren’t applicable to children.

So that’s why I personally enjoy TalkBox.Mom because

the phrases we’re learning, right away, are things that kids

I know will enjoy and they’ll feel victory in because they’re

using these phrases every single day.

I enjoy as well that they aren’t on the computer learning

something, but they’re actually doing something tactile with

their hands; whether it’s learning how to throw a ball, or

to make a sandwich.

So, those are the main differences between TalkBox.Mom

and Rosetta Stone.
