INSTRUCTIONS

Ask the person holding the ball to hand it to you.

Take turns asking for the ball until it’s just too easy.

DIALOG HELP

Say to your family, “We are going to hand the ball to each other. Show me how you hand a ball to someone.”

Make sure no one throws the ball. We will be throwing the ball soon but not yet.

“Let’s hear how to say it in Hebrew to a male. We will repeat after she talks.”

Listen to the phrase and repeat after she talks.

“Let’s hear how to say it in Hebrew to a female. We will repeat after she talks.”

Listen to the phrase and repeat after she talks.

“What is the difference?” “Ten” is to a male, and “Tni” is to a female.

“If someone addresses you with a phrase for the opposite gender, answer in a high pitch voice or a low pitch voice to be silly and match that gender. Then they can laugh, and try again to use the correct phrase.”

To a male: “If someone says, ‘Ten li et hakadur,’ you hand the ball to them.”

To a female: “If someone says, ‘Tni li et hakadur,’ you hand the ball to them.”

Say, ‘Ten/Tni li et hakadur,’ and I will hand the ball to you.”

Continue handing the ball while saying the phrase until it becomes so easy!

Don’t worry about how your child pronounces the phrase. It will get better over time. Just replay the audio to help.

When someone forgets how to say the phrase, say, “Let’s play the phrase again. It’s okay to listen to it as many times as you want. There is no such thing as cheating here.”

When this becomes just so easy, go to the next step.
