Start Signing ASL Together This School Year

For years, ASL has been the most requested language at TalkBox.Mom.

Now we’re opening the first Founding Family Cohort as we build a family-first ASL program with Deaf and CODA women at the center…

So your family can use ASL in real life!

We asked one question.

Hundreds of Families Answered.

Before we decided to build ASL, we asked families why they wanted it.

The answers weren’t about adding another subject.

They were about people.

“I want to communicate with more people.”

“I don’t want someone to feel left out.”

“I want to help community members feel seen and supported.”

“I want to communicate with my grandson.”

“I want to be prepared if someone I love loses their hearing.”

“I’d love another way to communicate with my husband.”

We thought a few families wanted ASL.

We discovered a movement of families who want to include and support more people.

So that’s what we’re building.

The TalkBox.Mom Difference

ASL Was Never Meant to Stay in a Lesson.

Most families don’t want another subject to squeeze into the school day.

They want ASL they can actually use.

  • At the table.
  • Across the room.
  • With a child.
  • With a grandparent.
  •  With a friend.
  • With someone they meet in their community.
  • Not worksheets.
  • Not vocabulary lists.
  • Not just in an app.
  • Not from a book.
  • Not just for tests.
  • Not “learn it now and maybe use it someday.”

Real communication.

In real moments.

Together.

That’s why TalkBox.Mom ASL is being built around real family life.

Introducing TalkBox.Mom ASL

The Family-First Way to Start Signing ASL

TalkBox.Mom ASL is being built to help families start using ASL in real life…

Even if you’re brand new.

Even if you’ve tried before.

Even if you don’t know where to start.

Start With Full Phrases

Not random signs.

Full ASL phrases your family can use in real life—so you can start communicating right away.

Learn From Native Signers

We’re building ASL with Deaf and CODA women at the center, because native users of the language belong at the center of this project.

Practice as a Family

You’ll learn together, use it together, and build ASL into your real routines and day to day life.

Begin This School Year

The first Founding Family Cohort begins September 14.

ASL Starts Becoming Part of Real Life

Include Someone Who Signs

Give your family a way to communicate with someone who is deaf, hard of hearing, or uses signs to communicate—so more people can feel seen, included, and part of the conversation.

Stay Connected as Hearing Changes

Use ASL with a spouse, parent, grandparent, or loved one as hearing changes over time.

Support a Child Who Needs Another Way

Give children another way to communicate when words feel hard, speech is delayed, or they need a quiet way to express themselves.

Use ASL in Quiet Moments

Communicate during church, library time, red-eye flights, bedtime, or other moments when voices aren’t the best option.

Connect Across Distance

Use ASL across a room, across the yard, from the bleachers, at the beach, in a pool, or in a busy public place where voices don’t carry.

Build a Family Language

Create shared ASL phrases your children, spouse, grandparents, and extended family can use together in everyday life.

Founding Family Intro Rate

A 9-Month ASL Cohort for Your Whole Family

TalkBox.Mom ASL isn’t being built as a one-student class, a temporary login, or a collection of random signs.

It’s a full school-year ASL experience for your family that you can use for years after the cohort ends.

You’ll join the September 14 Cohort, start signing together through the school year, and keep lifetime access for your family—so ASL can continue growing in your home long after the cohort begins.

One Enrollment for Your Family

Your family learns together with one enrollment instead of separate access for every child or parent.

9 Months of Guided Progress

The September 14 Cohort gives your family a clear path through the school year, so you’re not trying to piece ASL together on your own.

Lifetime Family Access

You can keep reviewing, practicing, and using ASL for years.

Built With Native Signers

We’re building ASL with Deaf and CODA women at the center, so your family sees ASL modeled clearly and naturally.

BUY ONE GIVE ONE

Did you know that only 10-30% of parents of Deaf children ever learn to sign?

Not because they don’t love their children.

Because the barriers are real.

Time. Cost. Overwhelm.

Not knowing where to start.

When you join as a Founding Family, you help us build the ASL program designed to lower those barriers SIGNIFICANTLY.

And through Buy One Give One, we’ll partner with organizations to give TalkBox.Mom ASL to families facing financial barriers who need a clear way to start to communicate with their child.

Your family starts.

Another family gets a lifeline.

Founding Family Recognition

Your family will be part of the first TalkBox.Mom ASL cohort.

You’re not just joining after it’s built.

You’re helping bring it to life.

Future ASL Updates

As we build and refine the 9 Experience Program for ASL, Founding Families will receive future updates for their family.

The First 3 Weeks Promise

Use ASL Together — Or Get Your Money Back

TalkBox.Mom ASL is being built so your family can start using full ASL phrases in real life from the beginning.

So here’s our promise:

Complete the first three weeks of Practice Sessions with the September 14 Cohort.

If your family has completed the practice sessions and still isn’t using signs together, email us that week and we’ll refund your enrollment.

How It Works

  1. Join the September 14 Cohort.
  2. Complete the first three weeks of Practice Sessions in the app.
  3. Start using ASL together as a family.
  4. If you’ve completed the Practice Sessions and your family still isn’t using signs together, email us that week for a refund.

You don’t have to be fluent in three weeks.

You don’t have to be perfect.

But if you follow the first three weeks, your family should be using ASL together.

That’s what TalkBox.Mom is built for.

After You Join

Here’s What Happens Next

2. Get Ready for September

TalkBox.Mom ASL helps your family learn full phrases and add them to your daily life.

Instead of collecting random signs, you’ll use the app to move through practice sessions, focus on specific phrases, and track that your family is actually using ASL together.

Founding Family Enrollment is $697.

That’s less than $78/month across the 9-month cohort for your immediate family, with lifetime access.

If your family has completed the Practice Sessions in the companion app and still isn’t using signs together, email us and we’ll refund your enrollment.

Each month, a new immersion experience will be available, for a total of 9 over 9 months.  Your family will need to complete 30 Practice Sessions in each experience to move forward.

You’ll have lifetime access, so your family can keep reviewing and using the program.

The cohort gives you a clear path to follow, but your family can keep practicing beyond the cohort schedule.

Because sign language is highly visual, the primary learning resources will be videos with different pacing and angles. As part of the founding family cohort, you’ll give feedback on what you need outside of the companion app, and all updates we create will be sent to you throughout the cohort.
